A little story about who we are and what we strive for...

Dave Davis
Founder, Father, Friend
Davis, a prolific sculptor and visual artist in all media, was the force behind Grand Junction, Colorado's downtown Art on the Corner sculpture exhibit, which he founded in 1984. He was the executive director of the Western Colorado Center for the Arts for nine years in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He helped to found the Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture, worked on art programs for area schoolchildren and was given the Colorado Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2002.
In 2018, Dave Davis founded the Davis Art Process and Media Learning Center, a nonprofit learning program with five apprentices he was teaching everything from welding to art business to creative techniques. Sadly, roughly 6 months after Dave founded the Center, he passed on. His daughter, Amanda Davis, a talented and prolific sculptor and visual artist (just like her father), continues his work of sharing the joy of the arts with students of all ages.
Amanda Davis
Center Owner, Daughter, Mother, Artist, Instructor
Amanda Davis is the owner and instructor for the Center. When you book a class, she is often the instructor. Let her help you find your inner artist and let go of the stresses and anxiety that we face as humans. Amanda is an established and exhibiting painter/sculptor/creator. She continues her father’s work for the community of the Grand Valley of Western Colorado, from Palisade to Fruita. Generosity, kindness, love, creativity, and imagination are the enduring values of the Davis family.

The Grand Valley
of Western Colorado

Grand Junction, Clifton, Palisade, and Fruita (native lands of the Ute people), are filled with talented masters of visual arts who have a wealth of knowledge to share with others. The founding vision of the Davis Center was a master/apprenticeship program, where relationships will be built that allow the arts industry to further expand in the area. Masters share their skills and knowledge base with a apprentice who can carry that knowledge further, developing new arts-related businesses and organizations. Communities that nurture and support the arts attract visitors and residents that contribute a measurable impact to the economy.
